It looks up which parts of your data the question is about before it goes anywhere near an answer, so it queries the right thing rather than guessing at it.

The same database your tills write to, as it stands right now. Not last night’s copy, and not a summary someone exported months ago.

Your numbers become the chart
The rows that come back are what the chart is drawn from. The model chooses how to show them (a table, a line, bars, a pie, a scatter, a histogram or a side-by-side), but it never gets to make the figures up.

What it will not do.
Four things worth knowing before you switch it on, including the one place BranchPOS needs a connection.
- It cannot change anything
- The assistant was never given a tool that writes. It can read your data and count it; there is no command in it that edits an item, voids a sale or moves a price.
- You set what it can spend
- Every answer shows what it cost to produce, and your plan carries a monthly ceiling. Reach the ceiling and it stops until the next month rather than quietly running up a bill.
- Owners only, and only if it is switched on
- A licensed add-on, and inside the store it opens for owner accounts alone. Staff on the till never see it. One switch turns on the assistant and Menu Scan together.
- This part needs the internet
- Your POS keeps ringing sales when the line drops. The assistant does not. Your question, the field names it needs, and the rows that come back are handled by Google’s Gemini models, so with no connection it simply tells you so.
